Whats happening in Toronto

Our major focus in our day to day work is the Toronto real estate market. We focus on the downtown area which has a different boundary depending on your viewpoints. Some people consider downtown only being south of Bloor St but we use a different metric to determine what is Toronto downtown core. Its the distance you can cover from the foot of Yonge St on your bicycle in one hour.

Global Toronto housing market

From a global prospective the Toronto real estate market has taken many of the same scenarios of other large metro regions. If you moved to Paris or New York City would you expect to buy a detached home. Or would you even be able to pick whatever apartment you wanted. That financial reality has how taken place in Toronto. Thousands and thousands of people are moving to the GTA every year and that trend with continue. That is one major factor that is driving the housing market and its long term growth. When you add the need of some foreign buyers to park their money in a save foreign market you have an additional factor in Toronto. Some new builds in Toronto have plenty of foreign owners but that might not be reflected in public records because ownership is hidden by relatives and children.

Here are some awesome sources of information or entertainment that we have found when we travel around town.

The Toronto photographer Lucas Coutts has taken some incredible photos of Toronto. You should take a look at his Instgram feed https://www.instagram.com/lucancoutts/ to see his work.

Slightly off-beat is a trip down memory lane to diner land. The Gold Gate restaurant in Toronto's beaches has an interesting vibe https://www.thegoof.menu/. The Beaches do lack Toronto multicultural feel but this restaurant is great. Combine a movie at The Fox theatre http://foxtheatre.ca/ and a stroll along the beach and you have a great casual date night. 24 hour street car along the 501 line helps.
